One of the most commonly used string folk instrument in Turkey, the bağlama has actually seven strings separated into courses of two, 2 and 3. It can be listened numerous means and takes various names according to region as well as dimension: Bağlama, Divan Sazı, Bozuk, Çöğür, Kopuz Irızva, Cura, Tambura, and so on. A bağlama has 3 major parts, the dish (called tekne), made from mulberry wood or juniper, beech, spruce or walnut, the spruce sound board (göğüs) and also a neck of beech or juniper (sap).
